Crystallized Fresh Rose petals
This beautiful rose color climbing rose in our garden ever summer many years. This is the flower, got from our garden, I know this is the last flower of this year's season. Then I picked the rose, and crystallized the petals for cake decorating.
These edible rose petals you can decorate and garnish cakes, chocolates, cupcake and ice cream.
1 egg white
1 cup fine sugar/caster sugar
1 tsp almond flavor
- Firstly, I set the rose bloom in a water to cleanse.
- Separate the each rose petals from the bloom.
- In a small bowl, add egg white and a few drops of water.
- Allow to dry put it in a kitchen towel or wire cake rack.
- In a separate bowl, add 1/2 cup of fine sugar.
- Using a tweezers, take hold of one rose petal, brush with an egg white mixture on both sides of the petals.
- Then sprinkle fine sugar each side of the petals, shake off the excess sugar.
- Place the rose petals, on a wax paper lined plate for dry position the rose petals, on a wax paper lined plate for dry more than 12 hours.
- Keep this crystallized flower petals in an airtight glass container. Store in low humidity, air conditioning will store in crispiness.
